This huge block of ice stood firmly where it was deposited on the

beach by the previous high tide.Thank you for your comment-Laurent

Wonderful image. The ice combined with the patterns in the sky are great.  I find the small piece of ice at the bottom to be somewhat distracting, and wonder if some more detail could be pulled out of the shadow area in the foreground-just my take.  Congratulations, Phil

Thank you for the kind appreciation and your keen observation;I should have removed that piece of ice plus the other small ones close to the block. And,there was some definition on the foreground in the original shot and now,I realize I should have isolated the upper/lighter part of the image before starting to work on the ice....but that is my level of skill on PP.I will keep this in mind when/if I get to working on some of the other takes I have of this day.

Merci et meilleures salutations-Laurent

You are right and under the hot sun some of these topple over or break-up.On pieces with  overhangs such as this one, getting under for that good shot has to be done carefully and quickly....I constantly have to keep an eye on my dog/partner Caramelle as she wanders under this overhangs that would just crush her;in fact, one can hear these pieces as they break up and create a slash as they hit the water, sort of a symphony in this dead calm environment....what!
