Good sharpness, nice composition and colors. The black background however does not do justice to the subtle color tones. Karl

Ruud, thanks again

Karl, not sure what you mean . I have found no background that better sets off the colors of  flower other than black. This way, there is no distractin or detraction from the main subject.

Thanks for your time and opinion. G

Of course, the colors stand out, but would I hang such a photo on the wall of my living room? Never!

Just my opinion. Karl

I read previous Karl comment and of course each of us have as normal it is different feelings, mood, for same image we look.I don't think that the problem is to hang or not this on a wall as picture because we come back to feeling we have and from here will be this decision to do.

What black bg bring is a well seen main subject and attention for details(that for sure in G&V images are well seen, like a study of flowers).

In opposition a light ,soft blur pastel color bg for ex. gives indeed a different visual impact and mood, maybe with more positive impact as composition.

My conclusion as one I deed many photos with black bg,also some with light bg,that is a matter of each one taste and mood moment to chose one of idea.Is the way we can have so a big variety of compositions.

to all of you my sincerely good thoughts

Radu,

thanks for your thoughts. One of the fascinating things about photography is the many opinions and reactions people can have from the same image. I always welcome these varied views, whether I agree with them or not. G
