Really like the yellow color of the Goldfinch against that Springtime green background and even more so, . . . the way you have presented it!

The framing and vignetting here really works well with this shot!

The details of the Goldfinch are very good in my opinion with the little bit of catchlight as some icing on the cake!

Well chosen DOF and separation from the subject to the distant background. Not only for the Bird but, the details in the plant growth immediately surrounding the bird sort of puts it on a stage for the viewer.

I am so glad you stopped by and left a comment!  I checked on this image this morning and saw that it had a rating average of 3.88.  To tell the truth I was disappointed, not that the image was regarded so poorly, but that I really thought it was pretty darn good.  Granted, I would like to be in the use of an 800mm f5.6 but I am not.  None-the-less I believe this is better than a below average (below a snapshot) capture, it literally shook my belief system. I think I am done with this ratings game.  So once more, let me thank you for having saved my day.  With best regards...

That makes at least two of us that would prefer to have that 600 or 800mm f/5.6 than our measly 200, 300 & 400mm affordable lenses! (smiles)

I don't understand the low ratings here either!

I've sent you an internal message!

Regards always,

Jim j.
