Lydia is very photogenic. Very well composed image i like the soft colours the subdued tones and the fact the kittie is the center of attention.

You can tell we have three cats at home so i could be bias but not this time. BTW you made me smile on the other day when i saw your " Towel "

image. I related to your feeling about "cabin fever " i was making shots of everything in the house just to stay focused....

Thanks for sharing. How many cats you have? Think i saw least 3?

My complements.

Thanks for commenting Andy.  I see you like cats too.  You then know that they absolutely won't pose for you and you just have to grab the camera when they happen to be in a good spot for a photo, like this one.  We have 4 cats: two old guys, both black and white, Lydia here, and our new guy, Gus, the tiger stripped tabby. Glad you liked the "towel" photo as well.  We had a long winter here in MN, over 50 days below zero and around 60 inches of snow in the twin cities.  I think your fractal images are fascinating.  Did you ever read "Chaos" by James Gleick?

She looks like a real sweetie (and I'm a dogger).  The lighting is perfect, even without a flash... impressive.  While you didn't pose this, I found it ironic that she's sitting between the symbolic "soft as down" and "prickly as a cactus" elements.  Both applicable to kitties ;-).  Excellent portrait...  Mike

Lovely capture of her in the window sill; windows and cats just fit together. She is a beautiful girl. This must be her house and she must sit on this ledge daily yet her expression seems a little disappointed that swan has not become real yet - as if she just keeps waiting daily for the metamorphosis to occur. Very well done. Thank you for sharing. :)

Thanks for the nice comments everybody!

Trisha, unfortunately, Lydia's brother, Lincoln, passed away from a mysterious infection in 2012.  They were 5 years old.   He was always very protective of his sister.  She's doing well though.  We have 3 other cats and Lily, our border collie, so she's not without companionship.

I am so sorry to hear about Lincoln, I am sure you and all the kitties must miss him very much! I recently lost my beloved Tomasina. She had been a part of my family for a very long time since she adopted us. She was at least 16 years old and the mommy to several of my cats (Free-Free, Cuddles, Chewey, Gizmo and Tina), and the grandmother to one (Walker). She died at home in my arms while I kissed her little head and told her I loved her. She had such a zest for life and even her old age and illness wouldn't keep her from enjoying her family and home. It is heart breaking on us and the other kitties when we lose them and it's good to hear they have company and are loved. Take care!
