Jack McRitchie 150 Posted April 8, 2014 This is a strong portrait and more than a little enigmatic. Ironically, if she were nude it would be perfectly normal (photographically speaking) but the fact that she is clothed and slouches resignedly amidst this disordered wardrobe seems somehow odd and disturbing. Her complete lack of expression as she looks at you makes her appear as if she has been overwhelmed and defeated by life and has tucked herself into this corner to escape. Link to comment
mbh 0 Posted April 9, 2014 This shot definitely captured my attention. Her eyes and expression make you want to know more about what's going on in her mind. Love the treatment, works very well in this image. Nice capture all around. Link to comment
GailAnthonyHarmer 5 Posted April 10, 2014 Actually she reminds me of my Mom when she was young and would spend hours ironing my Dad's clothes for work. (he had to wear a Dress shirt and Tie every day). She would even iron his 'handkerchiefs'!! But sometimes when I would go into the kitchen, I'd see her with this tired, almost worried look on her face. At times she probably had the weight of the world on her shoulders, money was sparse, at one point when I was 11, a baby was on the way. She was surprised by that one, already with 3 busy children. But it turned out that my brother Jamie, 11 years younger than I was such a delight for her and Dad. This time there was enough space between children that she could really enjoy this beautiful baby. I think of Mom, with all the clothes around her, waiting to be ironed. This model reminds me of her at that age a bit. Processing works really well here Chuck. Exceptional work here.Kind regards, Gail Link to comment
