Why leave the camera in the bag??? there are times when we will never get a shot that will satisfy everyone or even ourselves, but this is a very vivid memory I imagine!! I'm glad you shared it Jim! I've always been fascinated with Yellowstone and especially Old Faithfull.

kind regards, Gail

You didn't take the camera so it could be a bag warmer. There are a gazzillion photos of Old Faithful. You should have a set also. Leaving the camera in the bag would have been a boot to the head offense. You're supposed to have fun and it looks like you did. The cloudy day is a nice touch with all the steam. One nice aspect of Yellowstone is that there is so much geothermal activity that you can get absorbed in the wonder of it all and then enjoy it with the camera also. I hope you spent time at Norris. Thanks for sharing this one.

Regards,

Laura

I can't offer a harsh critique because I agree with the previous 2.  I do think to emphasize the geyser in landscape format I would have made the subject less dominant, in other words from a more distant perspective.

A vertical composition would have worked nicely :)
