Excellent capture! fantastic close distance and/or narrow sight details are very impressive! Light is so natural, it is so vivid, gives a feeling to stay away from the screen not to interfere...!  well done Tm.j

Thanks Hanan! Most shot of this series were taken at around 15-20 feet, my 500mm has a minimum focusing distance of 15.4 ft and I try to get as close as I can. I think the ideal lens to shoot this type of bird is probably the 200-400mm (with the built-in 1.4x) since not only it's a zoom that allow shooting when the bird gets real close it also has a minimum focusing distance of around 6 feet . I have a 100-400mm  which has about the same 6 ft min focus distance but I don't want to use this much since the clarity of the 500mm is much better. With closer focusing distance I can increase the image size and it would be even better. I've used extension tube to get closer but that slow the focusing time down some.
