The idea of an umbrella on this cool winter/spring day was intriguing.

To me this image came to be about the “twists and turns” framing this

unseasonable appearance. Comments and critique appreciated.

The subtle colouration and the painterly effect make this really aesthetically pleasing, so much so it can easily be envisaged hanging in a study!

Can you tell us a bit more about the processing?

Compliments!

Alf,

Thanks.  Much appreciated.  I've found that Topaz Simplify allows me the control I need to produce degrees of lost and found edges and merge shapes as I like to do with watercolor.  On a layer copy I apply topaz adjustments and selectively mask out areas where I wish to minimize or erase the effect.  On some images I find myself minimizing or "painting" so many selected parts of an image, it feels very similar to what I do when painting a water color with a brush.  Thanks for asking.
