Jack McRitchie 150 Posted March 12, 2014 Quite dramatic, Pnina. Is this from a performance piece? Link to comment
tibig 0 Posted March 14, 2014 Nice series. You certainly had a very difficult lighting problem here, but this shot creatively exploits it instead of trying to fight it. I like it, well done.Regards, Tibi Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted March 20, 2014 All of these look like they're from a very special performance or performances. This one seems the most sophisticated and yet it is still quite playful. You've done so much with it and I'm sure the director or choreographer (as well as the lighting designer) must be thrilled with your interpretation of it. These would make a good beginning for a book, since they are so unusual and so big a statement. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted March 22, 2014 As always, your inteligent expression/ interprattion, and point of view, is a very good reading. All 3 of them are different acts, of some dances performed in one show. It was photographed quite some years ago, and I even don't remember the name of the show...I have not even an explanation why all of them(and I have some more...)were "sleeping"in my filles ,and only now , I came back to pp them... What I think is that it was my begining with the dance world, and (maybe )I'm more experienced as a photographer ,and understood their value... What I do remember is that it was a very unusual choreography, and I was seating in the last raw of the theater...;-)) Fred, and all of you, your interpretation simply gave me the feedback I needed, and I'm very gratful ! amalsircar 2 Posted April 1, 2014 Pnina, unusual and interesting image, indeed. The color and abstract nature of the image is appealing to me. Link to comment

LenMarriott 9 Posted April 5, 2014 It's not too much of a stretch of the imagination here to place two people dancing in the rain. The props & lighting people deserve a pat on the back for their part in this image. Of course, your vision and skill shouldn't go unrecognized either. What camera adjustments did you use (shutter speed & aperture) & how did you decide that these would give the desired result? Some of us, desiring to try this ourselves, might appreciate a starting point. Best, LM. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted April 6, 2014 Thanks for your nice comment. As I have writen to Fred it was taken some years ago.I have developed a a mode of photographing my dance work.First I try to find the places on the stage where the lights are not directly on the dancer. It took a lot of traile and error (and still is..)....,as well as many of the photos are taken with under exposure(depends on the light work of the dance.)and with high iso. As I photo with raw mode I can make adjastments if needed. As dance is a lot of fast movements i have todecide fast what in a dance fits me.so I photograph, and decide about the composition later on..This one was taken with my older camera - Canon 30D. iso 1600! F4 , lens 70/200 ( at 140 fl)shatter speed 06.thats what is written at my fille. Len, I hope it helps..and it will be nice if you will have results..;-)) . Link to comment
gordonjb 10,860 Posted April 26, 2014 I like this one very much. It has a macabre feel, skeletons dancing in a storm of acid rain. Link to comment
