It belongs to the plant family Strelitziaceae.The genusis named after the duchy of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, birthplace of QueenCharlotte of the United Kingdom. A common name of the genus is bird ofparadise flower, because of a supposed resemblance of its flowers tothe bird of paradise. Link to comment

krpradu 125 Posted March 10, 2014 G&V,thank you for opinion and sincerely words.I did this blue lines to have not an empty black bg that do imo a very strong contrast with flower,you know that is a mine taste to do this kind of digital alteration.Easy to change in idea of your opinion and a version for this I uploaded here. GailAnthonyHarmer 5 Posted March 14, 2014 Bird of Paradise was always one of my favorites to use in a more Tropical or Oriental design arrangement when I was working in a Flower Shop. The colour is 'delicious', and looks good against the black background as well as in your digital alteration.
