Finally our snow is beginning to melt. Dirty sand and salt covers the

streets and bruises the beautiful white snow. It was still cold today,

but tomorrow promises to warm up to 4 c. That is a welcome change

from what we have seen during this long Winter. While the cold

weather is not over, my mind cannot help but wander to memories of

bits and pieces of images I have taken over the last year. Images

that are almost tactile, where I can smell the Earth, touch the ground

cover of grass and leaves beneath my feet at Silent Lake and

recognize the faint aroma of a campers' fire as they cook Dinner.

Excited voices of children echo through the woods as they call to one

another - Dad has discovered a Deer. Almost immediately all grows

quiet, as they hope to see this beautiful creature. A Swan moves

slowly along the shoreline, majestic and so beautiful. Happier,

Warmer and Welcoming Moments that remind me that we are so

blessed with our Seasons. I take a Mental Note to learn to be

more 'Patient' during the cold months. If the Seasons repeat

themselves like they always have, this soon will pass. (any visit and

comments are always welcome, many thanks, :)Gail - Dig Alt)

The layered effect you have achieved does remind me of memories superimposed on one another, each one leading to the next. When I think back into the past one story keys another and that another still, like wandering through a mansion with many interconnected rooms. Very nicely executed, Gail.

I really like your 'reasoning' behind 'memories' and how they evolve. I really like that analogy. Winter has me day dreaming about warmer and more beautiful times of the year. Always good to hear your input Jack.

Very soothing pastel shades with the softness giving a dream like quality to the image . I must confess I had trouble finding all the elements so successful is your blending technique . Bill

Hi Gail,

Wow...maybe it is just me, but it took me a while to see some of the images. They are so beautifully worked into the texture. My eye went first to the moth, then an "aha" moment...wow there's a swan right there, then the deer. This was a fun discovery!

Sincere thanks for those kind words. I enjoy the beauty in nature and all those unexpected moments. Some pure simplicity, yet they make an impression.
