Guest Guest Posted March 8, 2014 I like the idea of this one, especially the way the women's profiles interact with the shapely bottles. There's a suggestion of similarity in form between bottles and faces/bodies and the social aspects of a bar seem to be heightened by the reflected melange. I'm not sure where your reflection fits into this, other than that you were there. You, in the mirror, feel out of place to me. Also the foreground woman's face, which obviously plays a key role, is of bad enough technical quality to really detract from the overall feel. Perhaps she was in shadow which you tried to recover, but my eye just wants to avoid her completely. Despite some negatives, overall a thought-provoking and well seen image. Link to comment
michaellinder 16,611 Posted March 9, 2014 You are absolutely correct about the technical quality of the foreground figure. I was trying to emphasize the mirror reflections here, and I had thought that the figures in both the foreground and the background would help to direct a viewer's eye to the center of the frame. Thanks for your keen photographic sense and your facility with the written word. Both help a great deal. mhl Link to comment
