Large view available. This weekend in Vancouver was unique. It

snowed in the city. Little did that sop me from getting in a drenching

walk in Stanley Park. Many others were similarly inclined. Although,

not a terrific artistic image, this does capture the mood of the morning.

Thanks for your comments. Larry

Tony and Cristal,  Thanks for ringing in on this image as well.  Yes, It was a fruitful morning - first because I got out for a terrific wet walk in Stanley Park and second for having captured a few images.  This was a working trip and my walk was my only real relaxation and pleasure time.  Larry

Hi Larry_A very, very nice vertical B&W. Love the soft tones & to me create a feeling of quiet stillness., very relaxing to sit back & enjoy. Best Regards-Ross

Ross,   Thanks for your comment.  I'm glad the image emanates relaxation because that is what I was intending.  It was snowing slush when I took it, but I actually felt quite relaxed in the elements.  The cloud cover in Vancouver was so low, that none of the surrounding mountains were visible.  I am glad that the soft muted look works well in this image.  Thanks again for your visit.  Larry

Sometimes subtlety is the way to go, as  you've demonstrated with this sensitive image.  It's got exactly the right degree of clarity and sharpness, without disturbing those wonderful reflections.  I really like the small area of color the boats on the left provide.

My best,

michael

Michael,  Thanks for your visit.  I have been rather sensitive to the clarity slider in CS6 lately.  At first my inclination was to add clarity to images, which is fine in the right situations, but i now use this slider on the negative side of zero also to add softness without sacrificing focus.  Thanks for your astute comments.  Larry

My your work certainly does have you travelling all over North America!! Nothing like a 'wet walk' in Stanley Park to get your mind off work. Truly was a grey day for you, but you lucked out with this excellent capture!! Raining 'slush' worked out well - I can see it in the air and water I think!!! The West sure has had a lot of 'weather' this Winter - so many mixes!!!

kind regards, Gail

Hi Gail,  Your visits are always appreciated.  My travel of this sort is slowing down.  I am still fascinated with your creative processing.  Happy spring.  Larry

Larry - This photo has it all- mood, mist and masts... and do I see snow, too?! This is a classic waterfront shot superbly done.

Very nice composition and reflection effect, little blue helps to improve the cold atmosphere. Best Regards (and thanks always)
