Wayne Sadler 555 Posted February 28, 2014 While scouting fishing holes the other day, I came upon a crayfishwhich quickly scurried under rocks. Because no one fishing had caughtanything or seemed to be getting a bite and because I saw no pictureopportunity in the landscape, I went looking for my crayfish for apicture. I didn’t know these little creatures don’t like company. When I would sneak up on one of these critters they seemed to give me“the eye” and quickly hide under a rock. Comments and critique welcome. jim_j2 9 Posted March 1, 2014 Remarkable shot considering the Crayfish is still in the water! (I think?) And yes, he definately has an eye on you! "I'm getting the impression critters just don't like me." This gave me a chuckle!I always feel this way when in the field making my attempts at wildlife! And, . . . as of lately with the poor weather we're having, I've added, "Mother Nature don't like me either!"Cheers,Jim j. Link to comment
Wayne Sadler 555 Posted March 2, 2014 Jim,Thanks. What's the deal? They give us the evil eye and Patsy shows up and they throw a party and pose like they are auditioning for glamor magazine. Link to comment
harlequin 0 Posted March 2, 2014 Awaiting his fate no doubt. nice shot. the black frame helps hold you in the shot. Link to comment
Wayne Sadler 555 Posted March 3, 2014 Charles,Thanks. Although I have partaken of a few crayfish in my day, when it comes to catching them, I am a wimp. Those claws look vicious. Link to comment
thadley 14 Posted March 4, 2014 The focus is on the eyes and not only are they bulbous but scary looking. Considering the conditions under which you 'captured' this image, It is very well done. I was watching a national geographic photography special late last year and the professionals take a fishing (butterfly) net, grab their subject and take it back to a lab that reconstructs 'the natural environment' with flash and tripod, etc. Considering that you did not do that, congrats on this image. thadley 14 Posted March 4, 2014 I modified the color balance a bit and added some mid-range contrast simply based on my tastes. Link to comment
Wayne Sadler 555 Posted March 4, 2014 Tony,Thanks. I like your version. I played a bit with contrast and color but didn't come up with much better than I posted. Link to comment
