Hello,

here what I like:

Top bottom balance achieved with the reflection in the water.

Right-left balance with green on either side. The trees on each side also help frame the image

Reflection is better than reality: The clouds in the water seem more powerful and dramatic than the ones in the sky.

Stones in the foreground: they break the monotony and give the image a lot of depth.

What I don't like:

I can't find anything.

Very well balanced and composed. Very attractive image overall, great shot!

IMHO - a very pleasant and beautiful scene that has been well captured. For what it is worth I would have had about 6 or 7 shots of this scene - hope you did.  If the water was not too deep I would have waded into the water and used those rocks on the left as my foreground for my 2nd shot. All the best,

I looked through your portfolio and see that you have shots of this area from different seasons, and some from this exact location.  This one is your best, I think.

Hi Ross,   This image must be viewed large to really appreciate its punch and detail.  Is this an HDR?  If so, you did a nice processing job on it.  The light, color, reflections, and details are superb.  As presented the image looks like nature untouched by human interference.  Is this the St. Lawrence river?  Larry

Hi Larry -Thanks for your kind comments & pleased you like the image No, it is not the St Lawrence River.but rather a small quiet lake about 250 kms. north east of Toronto. We constructed a small two room cabin 55 years ago & this image was taken from the deck of the cabin & we never tire of the view. Best Regards-Ross
