The boats are taken out of the water in the fall just before the harbour starts to freeze over;these will be put back in the water about mid-April when the ice is breaking up and in time for the start of the lobster(small boats) and crab/shrimp(larger boats) fishing seasons which open on the 1st May.Thank you for the observation.

It is indeed very sad to see all these nice boats out of the water every year for a long period;they spend more time parked here than in the water. The error was that excavator parked where normally should have been a boat.Thank you for looking in and for the observation.

Yes, my friend...an orange color excavator in the middle of the boats stuck in the ice ... it's very strange and very sad! When defrosting, it will be very difficult to rescue this excavator from the bottom of the sea. I always thought these strange and crazy things only happen in Brazil. Good work and take care!! Roldao

I must appologize for my explanation;this is not on the frozen harbour but up on the wharf apron,so there is no danger for this excavator....only that it is at odd parked amidst all these boats.Still, thank you for the observation.
