I love the highlights, bravo."  I see highlights only in her hair.  I see a tremendous dynamic tonal range that overpoweringly favors the extreme light and dark tones.  Her hair is the center of interest by virtue of the contrast between it and all the rest of the bright tones.  For me, this works as a abstract but not as a portrait.  Niki, I would be interested to know what you think and feel about your creation and whether or not this was a successful image for you based on your personal artistic goals.  Retired, old-school portrait photographers, like myself, need help in getting outside the box to appreciate the unfamiliar and I hope you can aid in that endeavor.
