I'm always on the lookout for something different when I peruse the latest batch of thumbnails from the members I follow. Amidst all the admittedly lovely shots of fields and sunsets and flowers two rough images stuck out like sore thumbs. Yours of course. You can turn out lovely works of art with the best of them and have, but its these rawer images that really appeal to me. They seem immediate like scenes captured in the blink of an eye. Of course, that's what the camera is, an eye that blinks and records. But these seem almost like images recorded directly on the retina, snatched from time and stored in that part of our memory reserved for objectively ordinary yet somehow curiously charged moments. They feel unedited, unvarnished and true as if you realized suddenly, yep, I'm right here, right now. I'm making a hash of explaining myself as usual but it doesn't stop me from ordering squadrons of words to advance across no man's land, hoping that some of them will make it to the other side carrying my meaning with them. I'll just end by saying these latest pictures are really good.

Thanks Jack and Mario for the visit,

I find myself more and more interested in what I almost see out of the corner of eye. Getting those quickly glimpsed images onto the page is a challenge I find worth pursuing.

Good point about the periphery and catching things out of the corner of your eye. Sometimes I think that's where all the action is.
