The Colosseum

Subtle lighting, rich color, and an amazing eye. One of the best portfolios I've seen yet. Very impressive work with color and BW.

The one you were talking about on the Anna's thread... well I'm not sure I like this, but since I live a 2 minutes drive from there (the coliseum) I might just be tired of the view :)

 

Anyway, your portfolio is great!

As I said trying to shoot a well know landmark in a new way is hard. We can only please ourselfes frist. With this shot I wanted no people no modern Rome showing. This shot On PN is alittle dark. I wanted an impression that I felt about the colosseum. Wanted it dark and moody yet in a rich light but areas hidden in darkness. I can't really put into an image all I felt when I was there. It was very powerfull for me. Even though I had seen it in books and films a 1,000 times. I was not prepared for what I felt there. This is a close as I could get. And is one of my favorate in my porfilo.
