Actually I was thinking that the excitement of the game seems lost on most of them.  However, the guy with the 'H' on his hat (Right Hand Side) is finding it a bit of a nail biter.  :-) I know you are dying to know that The Barrie Colts won this game against the Ottawa 67's, 7 to 3.  :-) Thanks for your thoughts.  Best, LM.

Lovely - it is the contrast of player intensity vs the low-key 'crowd' that is so fascinating.  I am willing to bet they are fans of the losing team since there is a certain despondency in their body language.

You could be right about that.  Our Barrie Colts lead from the outset, the Ottawa team never taking the lead.  They must be Ottawa fans. :-)  The player for the Colts does indeed have a certain intensity in his expression.  Perhaps it was this intensity on the part of the whole team that contributed to the 7 -3 victory.  Best, LM.

Great action shot, Len! I like the way you left some space in front of the players in the direction they are travelling. I echo the earlier comments on the expressions as well...especially that of the Colts player.

Good of you to stop by.  The action portrayed here was the deciding factor in posting this one as it would appear that I missed perfect focus on the players,  opting instead to promote one of the sponsors.  :-(  Still getting used to the auto-focusing on the D5100.  If the dot isn't on the (fast & constantly moving) player when the shutter is half pressed the focus is missed apparently.  And then it must be held at the half press until the crucial moment.  Tricky!  Best, LM.

A fine action shot and one that clearly shows the value of using slower shutter speeds to capture  some of  the motion.  The blur on the ends of the sticks and puck give it the feeling of motion.  At a higher speed .. frozen sports.

Nice work.

I had the minimum shutter speed set to 1\640 with Auto ISO (6400 in this case)  That area must have been a bit dimmer as the shutter speed had dropped to 1\500.  That was inadequate to freeze the dueling sticks.  The blur at that point indicates a fast game but was a happy accident.  Luck is good!  :-)  Thanks for your views.  Best, LM.
