This Hidden Falls in Prince Williams Sound Alaska was very hard to

get to. but well worth the effort. shot in provia F 100 pushed to 200

and made B&W in photo shop, regular photo shop stuff done to it.

On the whole this is a good shot the only complaints I have is that the tree on the right about midway up the fall looks out of place better composition could have helped although finding a good shooting position in these kind of places is not always easy and the rock in the left foreground lacks detail a touch of flash may have helped, I think you were trying to freeze the action judging by the lack of movement in the waterI feel that letting the water blur would have made a more saleable print as the water near the bottom of the print is just breaking into blur. I don't mean to sound too critical because it is a good shot but in an ideal world that is what I would prefer but we can't have it always.

All the Best

Yes Bill it was a shot with no room to move around much and very hard to get to. could not take my tripod or carbine had to leave them back in a clearer area. I had my monopod which works as a walking stick as well. So I wedged my self into some rocks and used the monopod to steady the shot. The image looks a little to dark on this site. I took out the tree in PS and did not like the way it looked.

Very nice. The tonality looks good to me, but maybe I'm a little biased toward darker B&Ws. Also, I must say that this is one of the few waterfall shots that I really like with a relatively fast shutter speed -- would not look as good with "silky" water IMO. I like it a lot, including the tree :).

i think some detail needs to be teased out of the cliff walls. looks like this was not exposed for the shadows, which is too bad because it's a wonderful composition.
