overdiep 0 Posted February 9, 2014 Pierre, The hatman has many faces, like we all. Creative work. Best regards, Marco Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 286 Posted February 9, 2014 Hey, Marco! Thanks for coming first and for your witty, psychological and philosophical comment! Yes, all of us change faces, but the Hatman shows all his faces in a gro plan, wait and see, ha! PDE Link to comment
ruudalbers 1 Posted February 9, 2014 A beautiful result with his very nice expression, Pierre! Link to comment
yecon 0 Posted February 9, 2014 Hi Pierre! Your approach here, isolating the head in a deep black background, seems very interesting. By that means, you give extra strength to his face expression and gaze, achieving a better connection with the viewer. Personally, I get the feeling that this guy has serious mental issues... Pierre Dumas 286 Posted February 9, 2014 Ha, ha, ha! He has serious spiritual issues, Janaki! He's Aquarius and carries the burden of all humanity on his soul! Thank you for the compliments for this poor guy! PDE Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 286 Posted February 9, 2014 Sorry Ruud, I've omitted you for the second time in just two last pictures! Thank you for your nice comment and please forgive me, my friend! PDE Link to comment
timothymuffitt 1 Posted February 9, 2014 Dear Pierre,This is wonderful...full of life, vitality even if the head is disembodied! Also, this has a feel of, as we say in the US, "in the moment" meaning not looking back, or forward but focusing on the present. The hat is most dashing to be sure!Very nice!Tim Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 286 Posted February 9, 2014 Hum, Timothy, I only see a poor worried and feeling down man, even depressed and broken, maybe for a moment, from time to time he only looks suspicious and in deep thoughts! But when you say he's dashing he must be, you're the boss! The costumer is always right, ha! Thank you for dropping by and leaving a nice comment! PDE Link to comment
patrick_coombes 0 Posted February 9, 2014 Madman converted to bodyless hatman, Lol. I love your sense of humour Pierre. That said, its a superb portrait, cropping out the body gives more power against the dark background. Very detailed shot, excellent work Pierre.Best regards.Patrick Link to comment

jorge_fernandez3 1 Posted February 9, 2014 Looking at him I get the impression that he is an evolved soul that knows how to make others evolve also throw pain and suffering, which is the only way we all learn, just like Fidel Castro with us! And I know that we all resent growing spiritually because it stretch us beyond our comfort zone! You are also an evolve soul that makes us think with your creativity. Warm regards my dear friend. thadley 15 Posted February 9, 2014 "mental issues" - h-m-m-m - I don't think so. We all know there is a fine line between genius and 'mental'' (*_*) and that face conveys genius to me. Well captured. and a very Good shot! Link to comment
donev1 723 Posted February 9, 2014 The face I see now is much close to my surrounding and may be is easier for me to understand this Hatman – his feelings. Well, forgive me for these claims, my friend – this is too pretentious, but this is what I feel. I hope next Hatman will looks happier? Best regards. Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 286 Posted February 9, 2014 Tony, About the fine line I don't see the matter that way, for example Van Gogh cut his ear, isn't that a completely looney business?! Yet, he was a genius! This guy also told that to some psychiatrist who said to him what you said, he said: There is no line, doc! Thank you for your visit and interesting and nice comment, my friend! PDE Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 286 Posted February 9, 2014 Evgeni, Everybody is crazy nowadays at our "vilaet"! The happier one I hesitate whether to show him here or not, ha! Thank you for your comment which corresponds to my reply to Timothy! PDE Link to comment

Pierre Dumas 286 Posted February 9, 2014 Alberto, That's waht I wanted to hear, exactly! Thank you, my friend! PDE Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 286 Posted February 9, 2014 AJ, The lighting is more delicate than you might guess, my friend! There is a 32 LEDs ring flash and a white table lamp of 100W from the right side, exposure time 1/25 sec, f/2,8 at ISO 100! And there is a special technique to get a quite black background in the end! Finally, I'm satisfied with the result and it's only problem to remember all that, cause there were a lot of wrong combinations!Thank you for your visit and right comment, my friend!
