acres of agricultural land per year in California. ***

That is a scary statistic!  I guess people have to live somewhere, but it makes me wonder why more attention can't be paid to the acres of city space that seem vacant.  (though I can't speak for California)

The photograph is very demonstrative of "progress" in the making, time will tell if it was change for the better.
