Successfully photographing a hummingbird is akin to catching the wind.  My congratulations on a fine capture.

My best always,

I agree, sharp eye, great reward.  In the spirit of maximizing the impact of this little bird may I suggest cropping away most of the area to the right of the bird. A vertical crop with an 8 x 12 aspect ratio is what I had in mind.  My land is currently under about 3 ft of snow with sub freezing temperatures so it'll be a while before I even have a chance to get a shot like this.  Hope this finds you mostly, if not fully, recovered from your injury.  Best, LM.

Thanks for your comment and suggesion,as I have thought about it myself, and even tried it,,(attached..)

I have decided against the crop because, I liked the play of  lights  in the BG,and thought they are adding to the equilibrium (or the lack of it...)of the bird.

Anyway, it is for sure a possibility, and thanks fory our comment that enabled me to upload the cropped version....;-))

Thanks as well for your wishes, my shoulder is  better, even though  I still have a way to go...

Tossing ideas around is like throwing spaghetti at the wall.  Some will stick and some won't.  :-)  But at least it makes us think about things.  For what it's worth I prefer your cropped version.  That's what I had in mind.  Happy to hear you are on the mend.  Stay safe.  Best, LM.

How deftly balanced that bird is.  I like the crop.  The blurred portion throws the photo off balance a little bit, and the photo seems to be a statement regarding balance.  I like the colors as well!

So nice to meet you here again. Thanks for your point of view. I was realy debating with myself which version is better.I  have decided on the first one( as I explained to Len equilibrium, or the lack of it...)),but thank to his  comment, I have had the opportunity to show both...
