This image requires a story. Normally I shoot with a Nikon zoom at about

400mm, but today the birds were so anxious for the new sunflower seeds

that they would land a couple of feet from me, so I switched to my 105mm

Micro-Nikkor lens and just stood still. This image is cropped down from

12.3 mp to about 4 mp. Thanks for viewing!

Nice, while the little free-loaders:-) are quite bold, they don't seem to hold still long! Soon they'll be switching their calls to "he did it, he did it" as the sun gets higher in the sky. One of my favorite winter birds - always seem cheerful and up-beat no matter how cold or stormy.

Stay warm,

Bob

Bob,

Hi!  Thanks for the comment.  I was hoping to get an up close shot of a red-breasted nuthatch today, they were there, but they just were too fast for me.

Had a few goldfinches standing off waiting for me to leave and some pine siskens bit farther away.

Seriously thinking about moving "up" to the D7100 for this kind of shooting.

It's warm inside but 4 below outdoors:-)

Have a good night!

Dick
