I think you are right, it does have a beautiful sense of the stark bleakness and stillness of a cold winters day.  I can imagine walking along that path and appreciating the rows of tree's either side of the road.

It makes me wonder if you got a shot from that path looking along it, or if you took a more direct side on view that would render the tree line in a straight row.

Great mood, very well done!

Hi Alf

After a lunch with my family in restaurant, I walked with my son to the car where my wife, daughters and granddaughters went to some seesaws in the park. I saw this trees at the left hand side, stopped and captured some photos. I agree with you Alf, it was better to stand somewhere in front of this trees but presence of woods and fence ( cropped ) was a hamper. Thank you for your visit and interest.

Some of our best shots are as a result of chance encounters with subjects.  It takes a trained eye to recognize a valuable image when one comes across it.  You've done well here to project the bleakness of a winter day without snow.  By the way, if you'd like some snow I have several tons of it in my yard going to waste.  Too bad I couldn't e-mail it to you.  :-)  Stay safe!  Best, LM.

Len... Thank you for visit and evaluation.
I really like snow and it is a good idea to send me some via e-mail :). I still remember a lot of snow and lots of my slipping while walking on it through my stay in Russia for five years as well as my visit to Canada. best wishes

Great use of the trees... solid vertical lines and repetition.  I think the road works as a good base to the photograph as well as a nice contrast to all the vertical movement.

The color is perfect.  I think most would have tried to add "punch" with a wallop of contrast in post.  The photograph is almost black and white... filled with the even mid-tone grays of winter. It's honest, solemn, and cold.

Well done.
