Hmmmm...  no pores showing so not likely one of your plants.  Did someone eat a few of those Castor Beans..?

B&W makes it almost look metallic but deposition would appear to have been at different times.. nah.

Might be splatter patterns but vertical strikes... hmmm.... water drops on wet paint or some other creamy goo might do something like this.

A fun break, now back to work.

thanks- and a valiant effort at deduction.  I was trying to get a shot of a snowflake on a piece of glass. I just kept shooting different times but the glass was too warm and kept melting the things. This is a 100% crop at 5x magnification of almost totally melted snow crystals. This was the only portion of the image that was actually sharp- surprised me too! Nature is even a far better abstract artist than the best human. Just need to be able to see it.
