A female Anne's Hummingbird defending off interlopers to her feeder.

Though warm early this year, pairing off has not yet begun. No one is safe

from her wrath. Thank you for your time.

Great angle (bet you strained your neck with that lens) as it shows the lovely markings and detail of the underside of the bird.

Very well done Dave!

Thank you for your kind comments.  Currently I am not very mobile (blew out my knee), so I spend a lot of time sitting in chairs in my yard.  With the five hummingbird feeders that my wife keeps going, I have lots of company.  On this particular day I was practicing high speed sync with my flash.  This young lady was a willing model.

Thank you for the kind comments.  She was about to take off, chasing away an interloper to her territory.  Best Regards...

Hi DL,

Sorry to hear about the knee!

I'd say you nailed it with your flash showing all those fine details from your position.

Cheers,

I did sort of nail it.  I just wish my flash looked more like natural light.  But then again, I probably would not have captured the details or colors.  Thank you again for your kind words.
