This was rare hail and snow in the summer, as we climbed over the pass, the hut can be seen down by the tarn. I was very proud of my nine year old son who bounced along with his fair share of weight in his back pack.

The Milford Track is four days of wild new Zealand at its best.

Very impressive image. I can't believe how small the hut looks. Pass my congrats along to your son. What a trooper. I would save he is very brave as well. He is a great age for you to share such a 'trek' with him. I imagine he will be talking of this time for many, many, years to come.

Fathers and Sons, never enough time to bond when you consider all the amazing things you can do together!!! Kind regards, Gail

Thanks for the Comment Gail, I think he is very proud, he won't say much about it. I know he was thinking about it. When we counted off 55 kilometers on the road, he was really surprised it took so long in a car. Of course my teen daughter and her friends, rushed round faster, every time she came to a walker, she jogged passed them to give the impression she was running the track.
