Incredible sensation to be so close to the falls and feel the force

of the water. Does this image capture any of that feeling?

I felt like I was going to get wet looking at this picture. Great picture that really makes you feel like you are right there next to the falls. You have some great work in your portfolio.

We'll be going back in July - it's great to revisit places and get a chance to retake some shots. Thanks for commenting, Russ.

Hi Kim. This is a very interesting shot! The contrast from left to right is amazing, with the three dimensional border of the rock ledge cutting the boundary. Contrasty and colourful on the right and soft and b&w on the left. I can tell by the overcast condition that you did not have to alter this. If you go here again see if you can get rid of the tree branches on the "b&w" side of the image, they conflict with the "duality" of the photograph. I know you could PS these out but I absolutely hate the idea of taking a photograph, turning it into digital art, and then having it interpretted strictly as a photograph.

It is not easy taking what appears to be two photographs in only one! Captivating.

I hope my appearance here is acceptable. John Crowe.

John, of course your appearance here is acceptable and I welcome your comments.

I will be going back through here in July, so will try again to get the "perfect" shot of these falls. We only stopped for about an hour and there were lots of people around, so shooting points were limited. You can't imagine how incredible it is to be standing so close to that massive force of water! I do use PS, but in this case, I think it wouldn't ended in a good result to try and clone out all those branches.

Thanks for visiting!

Athabasca Falls near Jasper Alberta, Canada? Makes me miss my vacations up there. A few people have fallen in trying to get that special photo, so be careful. Maybe I will see you there.

I love this shot! Great DOF! I feel as if I'm being splashed here. I love the crashing water here. The contrast between the colors are so strong. This is such a great capture.
