I like the basic idea.  I played with it and some subtle editing will double the impact:  1. The frame of roof edges completes for attention with the central building. Crop the left and right about 10%.  The fact of the frame will not be lost.

2. Playing with histogram controls, make the shadows blacker while giving up little detail. (A little more contrast.)
