Jim_Dockery_Photos 2 Posted January 20, 2014 I didn't get quite an early enough start! I got to the first clearing in the forest up the Mt. Dickerman trail, on the Mt. Loop Hwy in Washington's Cascade mountains, just before sunrise. Without time to get my tripod out of the pack and set up I winged it and hand held my NEX-7 with Tamron 18-200. Deep snow kept me from the summit after these pics, then new boots resulted in blisters that will keep me paying the price for anther week. It was worth it. Link to comment
dom1 1 Posted January 20, 2014 That's a fine image Jim! Thanks for your efforts and for sharing. No pain, no gain, right? Link to comment
Not Here 93 Posted January 20, 2014 Spectacular! And well worth your blisters (at least for us) ;-)... Mike Link to comment
Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted January 21, 2014 Jim, I agree, this is an excellent shot, well worth the effort. I removed the blue cast, and the image has a totally different look. I thought I'd put it in just because it is different. You may not like it at all. I think it may change the mood you are creating. i do not think the edited version is better, just different. Nice work. Larry Link to comment
stp 6 Posted January 21, 2014 This is a great "portrait" of a mountain; such power in all of that ruggedness. The light is superb. Link to comment
Jim_Dockery_Photos 2 Posted January 22, 2014 Thanks for the comments everyone. I'm going to return the boots to REI this week! I don't see the edited version Larry.I've climbed this mountain a number of times, twice up the massive 4,000 ft. north face in shadow on the right, so it has special significance to me.
