I like this predominently b&w image and its bare use of color. The striations of shadow in the foreground (and extending back behind the trees) add interest to what would otherwise be a rather unremarkable snow-covered surface. It seems you've accentuated the contrast to achieve a nearly pointillistic effect, which I also find interesting, even at the cost of what looks like slightly overblown highlights in the snow caught upon the trees and a correspondingly slight--perhaps noise-induced?--blurriness around some of the tree trunks. But at this size, none of these issues are at all predominate and one has to look carefully to find things to criticize. What is most obvious is what pleases the eye, meaning this is a very competently composed scene.
