Excellent capture Lauren!! I don't think I've ever come across footsteps left behind by the snow quite like this before. I know our bad weather became your worse weather. We had a few days where some of the snow started to melt. On our back deck I could see the layers of snow and ice and there was a lot of ICE closer to the surface. I imagine these foot prints were frist in the snow, then the freezing rain hit them???? I actually think of you just about every morning when I watch the Weather Network!! Right after our weather, they show what is heading your way, or what you are experiencing. I truly feel for you. But I also congratulate you. You are out in it no matter what and have the images to prove it. I hope to be much better at my critiquing this year. I can't believe the number of images you have posted since mid December. I see your lovely dog got an excellent present from Santa!!!

Cheers for now, Gail

An interesting picture, there is something surreal about it, makes me think of Magritte.

Thank you for viewing and for the kind and elaborate comment. You are right in that these are footprints in the snow turned to ice when the rain washed/melted the surrounding snow.Crazy winter we are having, but it is not that bad considering we don't have that much to shovel. Can't stop taking images because of the weather, otherwise I would be out of action half the year.Take care!

You are right! These things are there and when you have a camera in hand, your senses seem to be sharper to detect them.Thank you for the observation.
