New Year;s Fireworks

Nicely composed with the fireworks filling the otherwise black sky area.  You must have been at great height.  Plane?  Balloon?  Tower?  Hill?  Thanks to Google Maps I now know where Funchal is.  The internet can be very educational.  Best, LM.

This shot was taken from a catamaran just outside Funchal Harbour, at sea level on the Atlantic Ocean.

As Funchal is located on the steep slope of a mountain, the effect, or better optical illusion, is as if I was up in the air, instead of the city :-)
