Replaced first version with better copy via PN single uploader - fewer compression artifacts than via batch uploader, which recompresses JPEGs after imprinting copyright notice.

Thanks, Amy.  I'm happy with the basic composition and treatment.  Unfortunately the subtle duo-tone effect falls apart online - I see some posterizing and breakup in the sepia toning.  I may replace this with a b&w version to avoid that problem.  Some effects just don't translate to online JPEGs.

Thanks, folks, much appreciated.  I think I'll include this as a cover for my first test book with Blurb for a themed project.  I hadn't really thought of it in advance as cover art, but it does have plenty of space for text without interfering with anything.

That rectangle in the lower right is a copyright notice automagically stamped by photo.net.  I suppose I could disable that feature - I think it's optional, via our workspace pages.  I'm seeing some recompression artifacts in my PN uploads recently, so it's possible the option to stamp that rectangular copyright notice necessitates resaving the JPEG.  Thanks for the heads up on that - I wasn't sure whether it was too distracting.  I already use Lightroom to stamp semi-transparent watermarks anyway so the PN version is redundant.

I just uploaded the same photo again - using the original JPEG prepped in Lightroom - using the single uploader, here.  Big difference in retention of subtle tonal gradations.  I never noticed before, but the bulk uploader, while convenient, seems to recompress our JPEGs as part of the process of adding the small rectangular copyright notice in the lower right corner.

Thanks again, all, much appreciated!
