Jack McRitchie 150 Posted January 11, 2014 My God, those mobile phones are ubiquitous. Half the people I see on the street here in Osaka seem to have their eyes glued to them, riding a bike, crossing a street, it doesn't seem to matter. As a photo, it tells the tale nicelyand in a rather well composed way. I like the tones and color also. Link to comment
AmyHelmick 0 Posted January 11, 2014 Phones are a definite sign of these times. This photo captures the fidgety energy of the child nicely.Amy Link to comment
joaodebarros 1 Posted January 12, 2014 Maybe calling someone to help taking care of the girl?...Best regards Pnina! Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted January 12, 2014 Distracted parenting, which is so apropos to my experience, but somehow the intensity builds until the phone HAS to come down--or at least it should. I like the purple shadows. Link to comment
tibig 0 Posted January 13, 2014 Nice shot, Pnina. The smarter the phones get the less their users become... But for the young there always will be a world of wonders.Regards, Tibi Link to comment
michaellinder 16,613 Posted January 13, 2014 A masterful documentary, to be sure . . . It tells of how technology can keep this lady from paying attention to a ballerina-in-training. I'd like to hope that technology is at fault here; otherwise, I'd have to conclude that the lady's priorities need to be examined carefully. (Of course, I have to qualify these remarks by saying that the lady may have received an emergency call.)The skin tones in this image are rich and sensual, and the hint of purple in the child's dress is gorgeous. My best always, michael Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted January 14, 2014 All of you. LenMarriott 9 Posted January 22, 2014 I like Amy's description of the child. Fidgety, yes, but likely because Mommy's too busy to attend to her needs. A sign of the times I guess. And it seems to be universal. I think only Antarctica has yet to be affected by these devices. You are mending steadily I hope. Best, LM. Link to comment
Elstad 9 Posted January 25, 2014 While the child is busy practicing her dance moves, Mom is busy ignoring her as she has seen too many of them. She'll be a bit more attentive when she joins the New York City Ballet... or perhaps not. A nice slice of life image!-r- Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted January 26, 2014 Ruud,Mari,Len and Raymond. All of you are right, phones are THE most significant electonic production of our era. Len I think you are mistaken about Antarctica... If there is one human being there... he probably connects with that device...;-)) Link to comment
