This seems to be a theme all through your work: light and form. Here both are deuced to their most basic elements. A very intelligent piece of work.
Very good work. As it is I find my eye drawn down to the path, I also like it with the path removed, when my eye become fixed on the illuminated wall. For me this crop makes it a fantastically simple minimalist work.
A lovely subtle study of light (-fall) and shadow.
I like the way the panel/wall seems to be equally divided by the lantern
(funny, it almost appears as if there's a crack in the wall - a 'trompe l'oeil effect' of depth)
You effectively grounded the whole with the dark textured horizontal strip.
Marjolein, Jack, Anthony,
many thanks for your comments! Indeed, Sugimoto is one of my favorite photographers. And, Jack, you're right, I notice myself being intrigued by scenes where light (and shadow) seem to transform things.
