Caramelle is in the way as usual, but anchors this cold morning

sunrise.Thank you for your comment-Laurent

I like the way she anchors the scene - lovely colors and the foreground complements the sky in a sedate way -  I have adjusted shadow and highlight as if you had applied a Graduated Neutral Density filter at the time of capture. Just for discussion.

Laurent,I like very much this splendid moment caught with nice sprayed colors clouds, reflection and ice a really winter feeling, grass blades  and not at last my favorite Caramelle. All three uploaded are very interesting and very good looking.I see Tony version and is interesting this too because comes with a bit of light on foreground and snow looks a bit lighter and same time bg has a bit more softness  and it seems a bit desaturated too.Is difficult to say that one is better than other, but if what your eyes saw hat moment was with this color intensity and foreground like in image you caught all is ok and just admire it.

sincerely radu

You are a very lucky guy to live in such a beautiful region and to top it all off, have these magic sunrises and  sunsets. I prefer the version where the snow is still in the dark. V

Thank you for looking in and for the reworked version.I thought about splitting the image at the horizon and working the shadows and mid-tones to brighten up the snow and Caramelle but decided to leave it to keep the focus on the sunrise. This was taken with the circ.polarizer on the WA lense(my addiction),but it was suggested I should look into getting a Graduated ND filter which would achieve what you point out here and also work good with this WA lense on clear skies avoiding banding which is upsetting to some.

Thank you for the kind appreciation. It is easy to get carried away when these are brought up on the screen for touch ups before posting and, while absorbed by the vibrant colors of the lit sky,I sometimes forget the remainder of the environment and this becomes more evident when the image travels in thumbnail format.Guess I will just have to pay more attention to this.

Salutations amicales-Laurent

Thank you kindly. We do have fine sunrises/sunsets here, maybe compensation for our relative isolation? As I write this,we are having a steady rain which is on the verge of freezing, and if it does, everything is going to be glazed and if the sunrise tomorrow is anything like this one, reflections should be spectacular.....Something to look forward to!

Merci et meilleures salutations-Laurent
