hm - I can't decide whether I find it great or too manipulated. But then, it can't be all that bad: you had me staring at it for a a few minutes. Resizing, zooming in, zooming out, squinting at it ... I can't quite figure it out, so I'd say: good and interesting work.

I quite like the effect you have created, the dream like atmosphere is quite compelling.  Maybe a touch lighter to reveal some of the detail that is there in the original version?

I lean towards the painterly style.  Very kind of you to show the original. I think Alf makes a good point - the image makes me want to see more of the detail particularly in the rock.

Indeed i overdid it a little bit, not so with the bodies i think but certainly the mountains on the background and the rock could have kept their texture and detail.
