Tm J,

Looks like you got all the good light on the back spread of this Kestrel Tm!

I've been to Half Moon Bay, . . . once . . . it was about 60 degrees with high winds and not very enjoyable. So, I don't have many fond memories of the place but that was back when I was much younger. Things would be different now I'm sure.

I lived in the Bay Area off and on back in the early and late 70's in the Sunol, Livermore, Pleasanton area. Have you ever ventured up around the Mt. Diablo area?

Cheers Tm,

Jim j.

Thanks Jim! Yes, it was a great day and I had only about 15 minutes to get this only good birdshot for my whole 10 days trip :-) - I drop the wife & kid at nice beach for a beach walk and drove back to this area that I had seen to catch him .

In my teen years I travel up and down California from Los Angeles Area and been to many place a few times. This trip is to show the 'Queen & Prince' (Wife & Kid) Northern California since they don't know much about Northern California . A bit of a vain attempt since they don't share my curiosity for exploring and geography much (only leisure pleasure). Anyway, the closest I've been to Mr Diablo is Walnut Creek over 35 years ago.  This time we hung out at Monterey/Carmel a couple days and I had the time to find that very hard to find Peiffer Beach : http://campone.com/day-use/pfeiffer-beach/

then when North to see the Redwood, Klamath Falls to see Crater Lake and finally back to 'Frisco stayed for 3 nights to see the city in a more relax way since we've been to 'Frisco many times but it's always a rush.

Nice shot Tue,

I understand that the flood of  shots from HMB was mostly caused by some extensive plowing and cutting of some field areas which exposed a lot of  small prey. It may be all "fished out" now.

When you enlarge the image it really shows off what a great photo you took, Tm.  Beautiful colours and great lighting.  J
