Very nice Michael.  Makes me feel like I'm sitting in a canoe in the middle of a massive swamp.  Maybe you were? ?  AJ

This is another beautiful image, Michael. I was just scanning through when I came across the smaller image of this photo in the gallery and thought to myself, "That looks like an impressionistic painting." So of course I had to look, and only then did I realize I'd just finished giving a critique to another of your works. (Which of course you are free to dismiss!) All that to say I would offer pretty much the same suggestion, that you crop some, so as to both lengthen and condense the image for effect and/or impact, but do so from the opposite direction, i.e., from the top. The water ripples here make the picture, as do the little dots of color in the leaves, so you want to be sure to retain a good portion of those and not go too far. That is, of course, assuming you want to take what I have to say seriously. Again, regards and best wishes, Bernard

I just realized there is an ibis or somesuch white bird in the tree, which would be eliminated if you were to act on my advice. So, perhaps you should leave the picture as is. Also, the ratio as it is conforms more to the look of a Renoir anyway. :)
