gaetanchevalier 5 Posted December 26, 2013 I have taken this winter scene photo in Quebec city, on a road in Quartier du Petit Champlain that is only used by pedestrian. Usually you do not see cars in this commercial street very popular with tourists. I had the opportunity and pleasure to take that picture before the municipal employees picks up the snow and put salt Icebreaking. I managed success after several attempts over a 4 years period! To take great winter scene photo, it is also important to take the shot when heavy snow is falling with very large flakes and no wind, which is quite unusual here (too much cold or wind). gregverena 342 Posted December 26, 2013 Perfect winter scene, reminds one of many years ago when salt was not used to remove snow. It evokes a romantic, nostalgic feeling. Wonderfully captured. Link to comment

gaetanchevalier 5 Posted December 27, 2013 Gregory and Verena, Yes, many years ago the snow was not removed with salt. Now, especially in Old Quebec city, fresh snow are removed quickly to protect our architectural past. To take that kind of photo, I had not more than 45 minutes. Also there was no car in the street.Thank for your comment. Link to comment

gaetanchevalier 5 Posted December 30, 2013 Christopher, I think that the heavy snow fall with big snowflake and now wind give a special mood to this photo. Also the fresh snow give a pure white street. Thanks for you comment. Link to comment
gaetanchevalier 5 Posted December 30, 2013 Radu, thank you for wishing me lot of same splendid images. We have a very large amount of snow here in Quebec city. But having the combination of heavy snow, large flake and now wind is not common and is very limited in duration. Link to comment
