this was a very quick shot from my car window when unexpectedly this bird came into view around a corner. It's a miracle there's something to see that resembles a bird ;-)

Scott beat me to the critique of 'missing focus on the eye'  but having said that I'd likely have done as you did, get the shot before it was gone.  Time permitting, my second shot would have been a little more considered.  And you got the whole bird in, another plus.  On the technical side, does your 150 - 500 focus swiftly enough for you?  Just curious as my next (likely in the somewhat distant future) lens would probably be in this range.  With the introduction of the Tamron 150 - 600 there are now more options becoming available.  Happy hunting!  Best, LM.
