From the thumbnail, my first impression that this might be a vintage image from the American west even though I have never visited there. This may be in part to the toning which is quite appealing.  Nice work!

Jack - Fine street shot where the central composition works. I like the b&w toning which complete the image with the framing. Great shot altogether! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Hannu

Jack, he seems to have a hard hat and boots on, but I see no construction site--and he certainly is not working.  So, I am simply left wondering what he is doing there.

Hi Jack, I'm a fan of the toning used in this image as well. A great street shot that works, I like the interesting things to look at on both sides of the central figure. Take care and have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Sincerely,

Holger

Thanks for the comments on this picture and a Merry Christmas to you all. I'm glad you found this picture interesting; I quite like it myself. I have no idea why I uploaded such a small image with a large white frame. What the hell was I thinking of. The construction worker was working at a site just across the street and I guess he was using the conveniently placed chair for a little break. I thought he was an interesting character but he's a little too small in this upload to really appreciate. Oh well, next time...
