bruslaw 0 Posted December 20, 2013 I really like the ambiance in the this image. Looks like you manipulated it a bit in software (median filter?), but I think to some degree it strengthens the fairy-tale, painterly quality. I do notice slight halos around the darker tree silhouettes though, which is less desirable..Did you try a wider or tighter frame, so as to include more of the tree on the right, or none at all, in the image? Also, it could have been easier to combat the lens flare, either while exposing or afterwards in software, using different focal lengths and/or changing the perspective slightly.Overall, there's a lot to like in this image, the mood, colour palette, beautiful place in enviable conditions with huge potential. And a few glitches, which I believe could have been remedied or prevented relatively easily. Link to comment
hess 0 Posted December 20, 2013 Beautiful mood and light - very picturesque! However, I do agree with Slawek concerning the tree on the right hand side. If you cannot include it (meaning if this image hasn't been cropped from the right), I would suggest cropping it completely. Best regards, Alex Link to comment
AlanKlein 2,904 Posted December 22, 2013 I like the overall moodiness of the photo. The light and fog are very nice elements. I think the the tree others have commented adds balance against the road on the left. If you removed it, there would be too much negative space on the right and heaviness on the left. I think the issue is that the road is too far on the left for a horizontal frame. If the camera was turned more to the left it would bring the road toward the center and the right tree would be eliminated in the process giving a better balance to the entire picture. But the picture still is very pretty the way it is. Link to comment
