None of us are immune to those times in life when we are subject

to 'things beyond our control'. One day all is fine, and suddenly we

are submerged beneath layers of emotion that call out to old

memories, lingering hopes, times of regret and a myriad of fears that

seem to suffocate us. This is NOT how I am feeling, but is an

ABSTRACT that developed and I found hit home in the deep, inner

place that is FEMALE. For many of us women, our feelings are

visually vibrant and very complex. (any visits and comments are truly

appreciated, Gail - original image is there somewhere :)

Hi Gail! This is a very interesting composition and concept. It is definitely a female inner world, elaborative, maybe complicated from time to time, colorful but sometimes dark also...Many things happening at the same time in the female brain, several contradicting feelings fighting against each other in the female soul... I can see a frozen (or bleeding maybe?) heart there and luscious lips full of passion and desire... Truly amazing job! Best compliments and a big 7!

Dear Gail,

First, I feel like I can almost touch this...you have captured the element of texture (and in this case textures) beautifully with your light and shadow. But from a compositional perspective this is really off the charts...full of symbolism that in some ways recalls Flemish Baroque allegory paintings (while still being a thoroughly modern work obviously)....and the icicle off the heart!!! Ouch!!

Great work!!

Dear Gail, I think Timothy and Yannis have thoroughly covered what I was going to say and I totally agree with them. Though this has Christmas colors, which originally caught my eye, it does not have Christmas spirit. I remember that face from another image quite awhile back if I'm not mistaken, but what I'm most glad about is that you are not feeling like the title of this most interesting image. Take care my friend and have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Best Always,

Holger

I can't see what's broken, but I like the spectacle! Very good looking and very original, as always!

Best regards, Gail!

Definitely, this picture is interesting, Gail.  Normally I would say that there are too many textures, shapes and colors for my taste, but... there is harmony here, good composition and a beautiful interaction between all elements, which is not very easy to get.  the colors are also nice, and make us think about the upcoming Holiday Season.

Regards,

Rosario.

I was thinking more of the woman's Spirit when I began the composition. But everyone will have their own thoughts of the image. Thank you Pierre for your visit!!

Thank you for your Christmas wishes Holger! I do not think I have used this face before, but I sometimes forget. The colours are brilliant but no, this is not a Christmas image. I am glad you are 'looking our for me', you are a good friend.

Talk soon, Gail

Gail,

I do have to agree, the texture you have is outstanding, dominating the feel of the image.  You have many diverse elements, all of which work.  I also like the overall rusty coloration, also accentuates the textures.  Thanks for this one & have a Merry Holiday Season.

Something broken can be beautiful, too.  But, to me, there is nothing broken about this image.  It appears to portray the intricate details of a fully decorated Christmas tree, replete with the vivid colors, lush textures, and luxuriant smells of the season.

My best to you and yours in the hopes that this year's holidays bring you everything and anything you deserve,

michael
