gungajim 75 Posted December 18, 2013 Tough to bring out the textures when the sun is this high and hard. I speak from experience as I have a whole drawer full of similar attempts! Jim Link to comment
thadley 14 Posted December 18, 2013 I like the tonal range and the composition. I am not sure about the resulting aesthetics if you had used a circular polarizer - it would reduce some of the highlights especially in the bottom right area. Keep in mind that the polarizer works best when you are shooting 90 degrees in the direction of the light. The reason I am unsure is because you only know for sure when you get back to the computer and decide. Those unsuppressed highlights might give that extra tonal range to the image. Sometimes I will experiment (I call it working the scene or subject) and use both techniques. All the very best PS I decided to darken your image and added a bit of clarity. My thinking is that your subject is scary and we often associate dark dramatic images with pending doom. It is with thinking that I darkened your image. It is never a recommendation, instead, it is an opportunity to explore, if need be, other avenues and thoughts. Link to comment
