It's been a while... I have been quite busy working on improving some of the drawing

algorithms, which in the end turned out to be much more subtle than I suspected:

Various geometric considerations and numerical optimization input was necessary to

keep runtime at a reasonable level. (Whatever 'reasonable' my refer to - this one, for

example, took my computer five hours to compute.)

Looking forward to C&C!

Photography untouched by human hands?  I knew it would come to this.  And interesting spiral swirl effect.  Leading to infinity I guess....

ROLDAO:

Thank you. I am happy to see you like it.

JIM:

I take this as a compliment. :-) Thank you!

GERRY:

You implicitly raise an interesting philosophical question. Well, at least it was the human mind to come up with the formulas and the hands to feed it to a computer. In fact, one could also draw every single step on one's own - but in the end, the computer does a better, more efficient and much more precise job than I ever would. So why not use it...?

By the way, I like your assciation with "leading to infinity" - indeed, that's what I also had in mind when designing this picture.

Thanks a lot for your comment!

Taking about "leading to infinity", I attached a series of pictures to illustrate what we could discover when departing towards infinity.

I really like the perception of depth that this image conveys so well!  It has that Sci-fi element that is prevalent in quite a few of your images, and which for me makes them all the more compelling to view.  I also like the fine textures, something akin to brushed steel that again reinforces the impression of cold precision and advanced technology.

Sincere Compliments!

ALF:

Thank you for again sharing your valuable thoughts! I am really glad you identified a recurring theme throughout my work.

Concerning "brushed steel": Indeed, I am planning to print this one on brushed dibond ("butlerfinish"). This will be somewhen in the future, but as soon as I hold it in my hands, I will attach a photograph of it.

PIERRE:

Wow! It means a lot to me hearing this from you. Thank you very much for your praise!

JIM:

HA! Got it right ... ;-)
