OMG! those can be very dangerous. How far were you away? On foot? In a vehicle? Armed?

A blood curdling image!

Well done! Still alive and in one piece?

cheers

I'm not sure I can offer any assistance in improving the image at all.  I think you have framed it very well, and although I would ideally like to see space between the animals and edge of the image on the left and right of the frame, there is little practicality of doing so with a shot like this.

Great clarity and dof........a stunning shot by any standard!

Sam,

We were about 40 ft away and in a vehicle but no guns and yes, I am still alive but I did lose an eye in the skermish that ensued :) Just kidding.

Alf,

Thanks for the feedback. I would have put space between the outside animals and the edge of the frame but there wasn't any. They were a part of the herd and to get the outside guys fully in the frame meant that parts of other bufallo would be in the frame which seemed messy since the image was about these 4 key players. So I went with keeping most of these guys in the frame. Thanks again.

Sincerely,

Peter

I am so envious of this shot. During my last African trip, the Buffalo were the only one of the Big 5 that I could not find. In spite of concerted efforts they remained illusive.

So, onto this image and what can I offer in the way of constructive advice..... nothing I'm afraid.

It is a great capture and you have done well in isolating these from the herd. I like everything about it (except it was not in my camera - smiles).

Well done

Thanks everyone for the great feedback! I made some mods and here is the new version. Would like to hear what anyone thinks. (It looks like you have to right click on the link and open in a new tab to view, either that or I didn't insert it correctly).

I like the new version, it seems you have cropped the left side and some of the foreground, it gives a closer kind of feel to the image that conveys a touch more impact!

Best Regards
